About

I am 29 years old, open-minded, and generally quite meticulous. I have a passion for movies (my movie collection), am always interested in learning new things, and am a bit of a dark-chocolate chocoholic. My hometown is Lidköping, Sweden.

This site, pericson.com, is my personal place on the Web. Here, I review movies and occasionally publish other stuff in my quest for cinematic enlightenment. The site is maintained with Notepad++, FileZilla, and ListGarden, and it is hosted by Ballou.

I am currently working as a certified movie projectionist at Lidköping's movie theater (since 2008) and enjoying it a lot. Moreover, I serve as a board member of Lidköping's film society and am also its webmaster (since 2008), I am a beta tester of Microsoft software (since 1999), and I provide computer support to family and friends.

In 2004, I received my Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Science from the University of Skövde (my dissertation: TCPA/TCG and NGSCB: Benefits and Risks for Users). After that, I studied theoretical philosophy for a few years at the same university under the auspices of Paavo Pylkkänen.

I have some experience in translating software from English to Swedish. In 2002, I created the Swedish translation of SmartFTP, which I maintained until 2008. I have also translated Auscomp IT Commander (2004; discontinued) and the webmail of Novell Internet Messaging System 2.1 (1999–2000; unofficial translation).

Between 2001 and 2003, I wrote a number of articles on current astronomical phenomena that were published in Nya Lidköpings-Tidningen, the local newspaper.

In addition to a love of movies, my interests include philosophy of physics (quantum mechanics, David Bohm's ideas of implicate and explicate orders and the holomovement, process physics, time travel), philosophy of mind/consciousness, computers and the Internet (Web publishing, standards-compliant Web design, IT security), science and technology in general, privacy and civil-liberties issues, politics, and the connection between food and health.
