Zodiac (2007)

Solidly directed by David Fincher and based on true events, Zodiac is a fascinating and intellectually rewarding crime drama that does not compromise on authenticity and attention to detail. Top-notch acting by Jake Gyllenhaal, Mark Ruffalo, and Robert Downey Jr.; Anthony Edwards gives a great performance, and John Carroll Lynch hauntingly plays the prime suspect. The cinematography is beautiful, successfully capturing the look and feel of the period in which the film is set.
