With an idiosyncratic visual style and a camera that almost never moves, perfectionist director Roy Andersson has masterfully crafted a decidedly unconventional and slow-paced film about the human condition in which images, details, and mood are the most important elements. The final scene is simply amazing. Strangely interesting, You, the Living is more a piece of art to be experienced than it is a movie to be understood.
