The Lookout (2007)

Beginning with a pulse-raising sequence and ending rather conventionally, this relatively fresh film combines an interesting character study with suspenseful thriller elements. Thanks to Joseph Gordon-Levitt's excellent performance, the lead character is sympathetic and likeable; Jeff Daniels is well cast as his blind roommate. The music is great and well chosen, and the cinematography is atmospheric.
