Starship Troopers (1997)

This entertaining, worthwhile science-fiction film combines action, satire, and political commentary of varying degrees of subtlety. With the exception of Denise Richards, who is too unconvincing and mostly just annoying (unintentionally, I hope), the actors give adequate performances that are in line with the ambitions of the film. Starship Troopers has a particular style that I appreciate, and the special effects are quite good.
